Meager Beginnings:
Though you wouldn't suspect it upon first meeting him,
Tim was born in the carved-out belly of an elephant carcass near the mountaintop temple of Doi Suthep in Thailand.
Orphaned as the result of a vicious mongoose attack on his family, Tim was taken in by 12 monks, all of whom had
rock and roll burning in their hearts, but were forced to keep it hidden from the watchful eye of the elders. A
rocking monk is hardly a pious one. Yet under the still and darkened blanket of night, the monks taught
Tim the essentials of musical ingenuity and instructed him to play power chords on a sitar, as well as sing five
part harmony on his own. Tim honed his skills beneath the radar of religious officials, and was able to continue
this paltry subterfuge for years, but was eventually caught headbanging while practicing his monkish chants.
Rather than pull the cloak over his eyes and return to a religous seclusion, Tim broke free from the
restrictions imposed by the elders ran away to the city of Chiang Mai and began playing in the streets and at
local open mic nights. He was soon wooing the people of Chiang Mai and neighboring towns through a musical
revolution, his unbelievable talent gaining him much adoration and worship. The face of Thai music was on the
brink of complete upheaval, each sitar pluck drawing it ever closer, yet Tim began to ache for something
new. There were invisible fingers strumming at Tim's heart strings... Panging away within his skull he heard the
music, but knew he could not create it alone.....
